Someday I will get back to posting more than once a month but for now, well, I do my best. The good news is WE GOT A NEW CAMERA!!!! And the even better news is that is was ON SALE at the exchange. Mike had borrowed a Sony Cybershot for a while and we liked it alot. So we got last years model, which is a little bigger, but has a 10x optical zoom and 8.1 mega pixels. YEAH! Also this one takes video with sound. My old one didn't have sound so now you all will get video clips too. I'd say just in time for Bogota but word on the street is when stupid foreigners take photos they get their cameras stolen. Hmmm, don't think Liz will be moving, or visiting, Bogota anytime soon! I've taken a few practice photos and hopefully tonight will have time to figure out the download process and viola... another post will appear!
Also, have you ever noticed that at THE MOST inconvenient times possible people drop by because they were "in the neighborhood" or say, want to come see your house and possibly buy it. We had decided May 1 was pretty much the sale deadline since, you know, we are leaving the country in oh... 3 months! No one has called or come by all week so I kinda let it go. Hey, I got busy! And now that it is warm the dogs are shedding more and there were tumbleweeds of dog hair floating across the hardwood. I know, just call me Holly Homemaker. I also had about a bazillion loads of laundry in the wash, in the dryer, in baskets in the living room, kids room... Folded yes, put away, not so much. Let's not even talk about the bowls of cereal still sitting on the kitchen table. Do you see the ugly picture. Yup, that's when my agent calls about a guy who REALLY wants a garage and needs to come in the next 30 minutes. Um, no. So I bought myself 45 minutes... YIKES! Oooh yeah, it was also nap time. Good and not so good. I scrambled... you go pee, you get in bed, if you both stop griping there will be popsicles in your future. You see I am ALL about the bribe when immediate compliance is necessary. Reference last post. They were tired so it all worked out. And I am a rock star. I have never cleaned so fast IN MY LIFE! Okay, so it's NOT perfect but it was "presentable". The guy looked at the garage THREE TIMES and told me he, "loved my house". Cross your fingers lady's and gents because this is the final curtain call.
Yet another conversation

Today, as everyday, Max proclaimed that he was not tired and did not want to take a nap and then proceeded to sleep for 2 1/2 hours before I woke his not tired butt up! But before the sleep there was the negotiation.
Me: Nap time Max.
Max: Please may I watch a little bit more show?
Me: No, you watched 1 power ranger show and now it's nap time.
Max: But I'm not tired... I don't wanna take a nap.
Me: You have a choice... you can sleep in your bed or mama's bed but you HAVE to take a nap.
Max: silence with a sullen look
Me: Well, what's your choice.
Max: I don't wanna make a choice. I don't like THOSE choices.

Oye, why didn't I create a dumb kid!
Me: Tell you what - if you go to sleep AND if you eat all your dinner - we will go to the ice cream store tonight.
Max: That's a good choice Mommy! (followed by lot's of hugs and kisses, he's a great suck-up)
So far no joy on the circus photo's. I am SO bummed. I still need to work on Mike a little more about the possibility of ever seeing them. Grrrr!
Quick update
April 15, 2008
Sorry, I know I've been delinquent in my blogging but I'm a little busy with - well - life :o) First, the dogs do NOT have a home. So sad. I thought we found a family twice and both fell through. I have posted on craigslist and a few other sites. I also posted around the parks and cafes etc. This weekend I plan on putting an ad in the paper. Keep your fingers crossed and your ears to the ground. If anyone knows anyone who might possibly be able to take on 2 dogs by all means let me know!!!
Kids are great, better than great really. Maggie is HYSTERICAL. I should have written down my conversation with her the other night because it was priceless. Now I can't recall exactly but it went something like this:
Maggie: Um Mama, I need a flower paper (aka paper towel).
Me: Why?
Maggie: I can't reach it.
Me: Did you pee on the floor?
Maggie: I need flower paper clean up.
Me: Okay, did you pee in your pants.
Maggie: I not tall enough Mama, yer tall. (Stretching and reaching waaaay over her head) Papa tall too. Maggie not tall, I no reach it Mama.
Me: Maggie where is the pee pee.
Maggie: It a accident Mama. No worry. I need flower paper clean it up.

The conversation to nowhere...
Spanish is going well and I actually feel like I will be able to get a point or two across. I can't believe how much I have learned and yet how little I know. Have any of you given any consideration the the massive amounts of vocabulary you have? Seriously... probably millions of words! I was watching "Two and a Half Men" last night and laughed at the comment "It behooves you to listen to me.... Behooves? What's behooves?". So I looked up behoove in my Spanish dictionary. Not that I remember it now but seriously, how often do I use that word. I know it, sure, but use it, not much. I don't know if I am making any sense but I did find it interesting.
That's all for now. Except that we spontaneously went to the circus. It was GREAT fun. Mike, hopefully, has the photos but that's a long story. I'll try and find them and load them this weekend.
Oh, and still no luck on selling the house so I think it's about time to call it a day and find a management agency. So sad, goodbye my beautiful dump of a Victorian :o(
