Quick update

April 15, 2008

Sorry, I know I've been delinquent in my blogging but I'm a little busy with - well - life :o) First, the dogs do NOT have a home. So sad. I thought we found a family twice and both fell through. I have posted on craigslist and a few other sites. I also posted around the parks and cafes etc. This weekend I plan on putting an ad in the paper. Keep your fingers crossed and your ears to the ground. If anyone knows anyone who might possibly be able to take on 2 dogs by all means let me know!!!

Kids are great, better than great really. Maggie is HYSTERICAL. I should have written down my conversation with her the other night because it was priceless. Now I can't recall exactly but it went something like this:

Maggie: Um Mama, I need a flower paper (aka paper towel).
Me: Why?
Maggie: I can't reach it.
Me: Did you pee on the floor?
Maggie: I need flower paper clean up.
Me: Okay, did you pee in your pants.
Maggie: I not tall enough Mama, yer tall. (Stretching and reaching waaaay over her head) Papa tall too. Maggie not tall, I no reach it Mama.
Me: Maggie where is the pee pee.
Maggie: It a accident Mama. No worry. I need flower paper clean it up.
The conversation to nowhere...
Spanish is going well and I actually feel like I will be able to get a point or two across. I can't believe how much I have learned and yet how little I know. Have any of you given any consideration the the massive amounts of vocabulary you have? Seriously... probably millions of words! I was watching "Two and a Half Men" last night and laughed at the comment "It behooves you to listen to me.... Behooves? What's behooves?". So I looked up behoove in my Spanish dictionary. Not that I remember it now but seriously, how often do I use that word. I know it, sure, but use it, not much. I don't know if I am making any sense but I did find it interesting.
That's all for now. Except that we spontaneously went to the circus. It was GREAT fun. Mike, hopefully, has the photos but that's a long story. I'll try and find them and load them this weekend.
Oh, and still no luck on selling the house so I think it's about time to call it a day and find a management agency. So sad, goodbye my beautiful dump of a Victorian :o(

I. Love. Maggie.

I do. She is AWESOME! I'm so sorry about your dogs and your house, though. We'll cross our fingers that G & C get a good home.

One more thought: Have you contacted the local Labrodoodle Rescue? They may know someone that they could refer you to.

How big of a hassle is it to take them to Columbia? Is it just a quarantine issue, or do they not allow foreign pets at all?

Good luck, guys.
