Because it's the last one she'll ever have! I came home to find that Maggie had written, IN PERMANENT BLACK MARKER, all over the MARBLE fireplace!!!!! Seriously, she may not live much longer. Luckily her father is more relaxed than her mother and simply said, "kids do things".
So, anyone have any ideas on how to get the marks out short of replacing the marble? GRRRR

Alcohol (rubbing) usually will take away ink.
Also, you might try a Magic Eraser.
Otherwise, I'm not sure. Marble is super porous though, so anything should be done soon.
oh and where are the pictures so we can giggle while we feel horrible for you.
