Friday, October 26, 2007 Fire men and Rain

Hmmm, so after typing that title I figured it probably wasn't the best choice for all my SoCal friends. I do wish you guys LOT'S of rain and clean air. Glad to know that, at this point, no one I know has lost a home.

Yesterday Max's school had the firemen visit. Max was ecstatic because he got a fireman hat. Look how incredibly handsome he is!

He was soooo excited to tell Papa he ran in the door and all over the house yelling, "Papa, Papa look what I got". Unfortunately Papa was not here but 45 minutes later when he did show the excitement had not waned a bit!

Both kids are doing well with their Spanish. They understand quite a bit and yesterday Maggie even said, "yo no se Mama" a.k.a. "I don't know Mom". Very cute in such a tiny baby voice. And Max always announces after school, "I spoke Spanish all by myself" with a proud grin.

Well it has been raining here the last couple days and, coming from California we don't have any rain gear. Which wouldn't be too bad except we live in a city and walk EVERYWHERE. I went to take Max to school and drove a whole block and a half due to rain. Soooo, Maggie and I went shopping and bought a rain cover for the stroller which will come in handy in the cold winter air too. We also got some fun rain boots. The kids had a blast jumping in the puddles after school!

As you all know Max HATES to get dirty and was a little distressed his new froggy boots were muddy. Then I told him we could rinse them off with the hose and he ran and jumped in the biggest puddle he could find.

For a kid who doesn't like to get messy he was awfully good at it!

And Maggie, who LOVES to be messy was really quite neat. I think that had more to do with her lack of jumping skills though. As much as she likes to run her jump is still a tiny inch or so off the ground. Whatever, she'll get there and in the meantime I don't have to wash mud off her pants!
