Thursday October 4, 2007 I've got friends in new places

I've had a request or two for some photos of the new (but REALLY old) house. I don't have many as of yet because, well, it's not much to look at. The renovations are forthcoming and at that point I promise some before/after shots. However, Maggie seems to be particularly adept at "renovating" all on her own. Below you will see two photos... the first taken at 1:45 the second at 2:30. In case math is not your strong suit that is just 45 minutes. Maggie COMPLETELY destroyed the playroom in that time! She was proud of herself too. I came downstairs and exclaimed, "what a mess" to which Maggie replied, "I make a mess Mom" with a HUGE grin. Good thing she's so cute!

And yes, I do realize Max is in the second photo too but trust me... that kid is ALL about the t.v. This is the playroom, obviously, it is in the basement and it is also obvious why! I love it though. It's perfect for them and keeps the main level looking respectable for the surprise guest visit.

The kids and I have been getting out and about and are lucky enough to have made some new friends. Colleen, I'm sure I mentioned her before, moved in the same day we did just 2 blocks away. About once a week we get together with the kids. Yesterday we went to Garfield park. Colleen has 2 kids. Cub is 4 years old and her Maggie, actually Marie Grace, is 2 years old. PERFECT!

Maggie is SERIOUSLY unhappy she can't have one of the swords. But in true Maggie fashion she recovers quickly and challenges herself on the rope tunnel.

We also joined a new mom's group and had our second Meetup at a park on Monday. (I know this is out of order).

Maggie entertained the little ones by fake sneezing as loudly as possible. It worked - look how happy little Amalia is...

If you look behind Max's head you can see the top of a structure. That's part of the sprayground that operates in the summer. Hmmm, I thought that was a CA idea but apparently not!

This slide was sooo much fun. It is really steep and curvy. Max and I played train on it.

All in all life is good. Mike and I are making strides in learning Spanish and who knows, maybe the next post will be "en un otra idioma" NOT! Anyone have any great ideas on how to remember about 3 million new vocabulary words we are ALL EARS!
