Woo Hoo - WE HAVE INTERNET!!!!

August 9, 2008

Well I think this blog is going to be a photo catch-up with not so many words because I just loaded 168 photos from my camera! Zoiks! I am NOT going to post them all but here are a select few of our recent adventures. I am soooo glad we have internet.

View from our bedroom window of the play area and mini golf outside. Inside, I think I may have already mentioned this, is a practice driving range (sorry golf is not my thing hope you understand what I'm talking about). Mike is excited to practice before he plays with the boys.

Maggie on the playstructure while Mike tries to figure out the blackberry ;o)

A photo of my GIANT bathtub that the kids love to swim in!

My loot from the local market. Can you believe I got all that plus a full grocery bag of apples and a full bag of peaches for about $30! A friend lent me her empleada for a few hours and she cut up ALL the guava and pineapple and placed them in freezer bags, as well as cleaned the raspberries and froze those too. Now i am just waiting for my vita-mix to show up so I can make juices and smoothies with all that fruit! Oh and the avocado, which you can't see to well, was TO DIE FOR! Also none of this stuff has any pesticides or wax on it so you can eat the peel on the cucumber and it tastes so darn fresh. Ooooh and the potatoes. They have waaaay more potatoes here than I ever knew existed. The little white ones are gold inside, and I do mean gold, they boil them and roll them in salt. UNBELIEVABLE. They also make a great 6 potato soup topped with avocado - YUM!

The next few photos were taken at a festival to honor the police. Think I wrote a post about this... Anyway the food and music were great plus they had a ton of kid stuff. This is really a kid friendly city. Public bathrooms, like in the mall, have specific rooms for kids with tiny potties and sinks. Oh but back to my point. At the festival they handed out chocolate and balloons and had cookie making stations with chef hats and aprons. Seriously a good time.

Maggie making friends.

Mike watching the kids play and taking in all the activity.

They had a lot of people made up, some juggling or pantomiming, and these guys on stilts.

I think my kids were oblivious to a lot of it and just wanted to play on the equipment.

La comida tradicional.

Max's birthday!!! Mike distracted him in the playroom while I set up.

Here are the decorations and a tiny view of our dining room. We also have an eat in kitchen but more house pics will come when we finish furnishing it.

The traditional birthday song. Guess we need to learn the Colombian version!

Listen to the end when we tell him to make a wish... SO SAD. Could I feel like a worse mother? NOT!

The cake. Max picked it out but the decorations and friends were a surprise.

Cut it faster we are starving!

Present time!

That's all for now folks. Lot's more tomorrow, and the next day, and the next day... Not sure how long it will take me to catch up!

Sounds like life is going swimmingly in Bogota! So very cool. I am not positive, but in Miami they called their male figures (dads, uncles, brothers, etc.) Papi.

Loving all the photos. Can't wait to see the house.
